Trump Warns of “Overwhelming Force” If Iran Targets U.S. Troops in the Middle East

President Donald Trump issued a stern warning on Friday, vowing that the United States would unleash “unprecedented force” if Iran attacks American troops or interests in the region.

“The United States had no involvement in tonight’s strikes on Iran,” Trump said on June 14. “But if Iran attacks U.S. forces in any way, the full might of the American military will be brought down on Iran like never before.”

Despite the warning, Trump expressed optimism that diplomacy was still possible.

“I believe we can easily reach a deal between Iran and Israel and bring this bloody conflict to an end,” he added.

Trump’s comments came shortly after Israel launched a massive overnight air campaign targeting 150 sites across Iran, including military installations, strategic infrastructure, nuclear facilities, and senior leadership compounds. Among the reported targets: Iran’s Ministry of Defense headquarters, an oil depot in Tehran, and the South Pars gas field.

In retaliation, Iran launched two waves of missile strikes targeting energy infrastructure and fuel supply depots used by Israeli fighter jets. Tehran warned that any continued Israeli aggression would be met with “even broader and more intense” attacks—including against bases in countries supporting Israel.

Just a day earlier, on June 13, Trump had called on Iran to return to the nuclear deal, warning that failure to do so could result in “even more devastating strikes from Israel.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel had dismantled much of Iran’s air defense system, saying Israeli jets would soon be able to operate freely in Iranian airspace. He also vowed to “eliminate the twin threats” posed by Iran’s nuclear ambitions and its ballistic missile program.
