U.S. May Send 10,000 More Troops to Middle East Amid Rising Tensions

The United States is reportedly considering deploying up to 10,000 additional troops to the Middle East as tensions with Iran continue to rise.

According to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal, the potential deployment may include infantry and armored units to reinforce existing forces, including approximately 5,000 Marines and thousands of troops from the 82nd Airborne Division.

Officials say multiple military options are being evaluated, including possible operations involving strategic locations such as Iran’s Kharg Island and the Strait of Hormuz. However, no final decision has been made.

The Pentagon and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) declined to comment, stating that any official troop movements would be announced by the Department of Defense.

The White House confirmed that President Donald Trump continues to keep all military options available, while ongoing negotiations with Iran are described as “progressing well.” Still, officials warn that additional pressure could be applied if talks fail.

Military analysts note that deploying rapid-response units like the 82nd Airborne Division would mark a significant escalation and could have serious regional and global implications.
